I hope you find time (go on, it’s a quick read) to give the Stark a go, and enjoy it. Point Blank is a good place to start: originally The Hunter, it became Point Blank to tie in with the Lee Marvin film, then Payback for the Mel Gibson film before going back to its original title (both great movies, by the way). I’ll be re-reading it towards the middle of June to kick off Parker@50.

Ever since I first read this post I’ve been searching the house for a Richard Stark book I know I’ve seen somewhere, then yesterday I spotted it while looking for something else – couldn’t see the wood for the trees. I’ve never read any of his books, our copy of Point Blank must belong to my husband. I’ll look forward to your Parker@50 event and try to fit in reading the book now that I’ve found it!
